CONNECTING IN CREATIVE SPACES – Urban Diversity Creative Voucher

From February to July 2019, the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region piloted the first part of a new support scheme for promoting diversity in co-working spaces. The purpose of the “Urban Diversity Creative Voucher” is to promote diversity in co-working spaces through connecting local creatives with the ones coming from other countries but who currently live in Slovenia. The creative voucher is designed to encourage the development of the creators’ entrepreneurial idea (both domestic and foreign creatives), while at the same time enabling co-working spaces to develop and support their activities.

The five co-working spaces, which were part of the Urban Diversity Creative Voucher scheme, implemented a 6-month program for eight selected young entrepreneurs. Under the auspices of the mentors, they developed their entrepreneurial idea while also having a free desk rental. Foreign entrepreneurs were thus enabled easier integration into the Slovenian (business) environment, they also made connections with entrepreneurs and became acquainted with the Slovenian market, and co-working spaces became richer for events / seminars / workshops / round tables and for numerous links to the international environment. The following co-working spaces have participated in the program: ABC Accelerator, GIG Coworking, KIKstarter Center z.b.o., Young Entrepreneur Institute so.p. and the Polygon Creative Centre.

The second part of the “Urban Diversity Creative Voucher” has started on 1 September 2019 in two co-working spaces, which prepared a 6-month program for young foreign entrepreneurs: the Polygon Creative Centre and the Social Academy.
