Kite making workshop
After a great interest for the kite workshop that happened during the Family day 2017 the St Martin decided to organise it once again. It was led by Darvish Darvishi, the representative of the non-governmental organisation »Alpha Nova« (https://www.alphanova.at/).
During the workshop, the whole family, from children to grandparents learned the kite making art.
Darvish Darvishi was supported by young Afghans, who contributed their knowledge and skills.
Participants were very happy to make their own hand made kites and were impressed seeing how high their art pieces flew in the air.
There is a custom in Afghanistan to compete with kites. And the workshop was a great opportunity to present this part of the Afghan culture and to meet new people. It was a successful day and inspiring experience for all participants of the workshop.
